Terms of Service

Welcome to Llenguapp. We are a small independent team based in Spain, and we build a language-learning app for Valencian, Catalan, Spanish, Galician and twenty more languages. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are the agreement between you and Llenguapp for your use of our websites and app. We have tried to write them in plain language, and we mean what they say.

For details on how we handle your personal data, please read our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account, signing in, or using Llenguapp, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. If you are using Llenguapp on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for that organisation.

2. What Llenguapp is

Llenguapp is a web app that helps you learn languages through short lessons, vocabulary and flashcards, spaced-repetition review, streaks and daily goals. Some lesson content and translations are generated with artificial intelligence, and some pronunciation audio is synthesised by text-to-speech (see sections 7 and 11). Llenguapp is currently in early access and we are moving toward general availability, so features may change, appear, or be removed as we improve the app.

3. Eligibility (you must be 16 or older)

Llenguapp is not directed to children. You must be at least 16 years old to use the service. By using Llenguapp, you confirm that you are 16 or older. If you are under 16, please do not use the app. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 16, we will delete it.

4. Your account

You sign in to Llenguapp using Google Sign-In (through Firebase Authentication). We do not offer a separate password with us, and we never receive your Google password. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure, because whoever can access your Google account can access your Llenguapp account. Please keep your details accurate and let us know if you believe someone has used your account without your permission.

You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account.

5. Acceptable use

We want Llenguapp to stay pleasant and reliable for everyone. When you use the service, you agree not to:

• break the law, or use Llenguapp for anything unlawful, harmful, or abusive;
• abuse, harass, or attempt to harm other users, our team, or our systems;
• scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-download content, or otherwise extract data through automated means;
• copy, resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the app or its content, or use it to build a competing product;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, or try to derive its source code, except where the law expressly allows it;
• probe, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, our accounts, or our infrastructure;
• interfere with security features, rate limits, or usage limits, or share your account to circumvent them;
• upload malware, or misuse the AI features to generate unlawful, deceptive, or abusive content.

We may investigate and take action, including limiting or suspending access, if we reasonably believe you have broken these rules.

6. Subscriptions and billing

This section describes how paid billing works when it is active. Billing is not fully live yet, and if any of these details change before launch we will update these Terms and, where appropriate, let you know.

New users start with a 14-day free trial, and no payment card is required to begin. When the trial ends, you can continue with a paid subscription:

• $12 per month, or
• $90 per year,

with all languages included on either plan. Prices are stated exclusive of any taxes that may apply, which will be shown at checkout.

Payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe processes your card details securely, and Llenguapp never stores your full card number.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) until you cancel, and the card on file is charged for the next period. You can cancel any time from your account settings or by emailing us at [email protected]. When you cancel, your subscription stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it does not renew after that.

EU right of withdrawal: if you are a consumer in the EU, you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase. Because paid access is digital content and a service that begins right away, by starting a paid subscription you ask us to begin providing it immediately, and you acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Refunds: we do not give refunds for partial billing periods, except where the law requires it. If something has gone wrong, please contact us. We would rather sort it out than argue about it.

7. AI-generated content

Some lessons, examples, and translations in Llenguapp are generated using AI, and some pronunciation audio is produced by text-to-speech. AI is a wonderful learning aid, but it is not perfect. Generated content may contain mistakes, awkward phrasing, or inaccuracies, and it may not reflect every regional variety or formal standard.

This content is provided for learning and practice only. It is not professional, official, or certified translation, and you should not rely on it for legal, medical, financial, or other important decisions. For anything that matters, please check with a qualified person.

8. Intellectual property

Llenguapp, including the app, the website, the design, the brand, and the lesson content we generate and provide, belongs to us or our licensors, and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Llenguapp for your own language learning while you comply with these Terms. That license does not let you copy, resell, or redistribute our content.

You keep what is yours. Your inputs and your learning progress (for example your review history, streaks, goals, and preferences) remain yours, and you can access, export, or delete them as described in our Privacy Policy. You grant us permission to store and process this information as needed to run the service and sync your progress across your devices.

9. User conduct

Please use Llenguapp respectfully and in good faith. Do not use it in a way that harms other people, violates their rights, or damages the reputation or operation of the service. If you contact our team, we ask that you communicate kindly. We will do the same.

10. Availability and changes to the service

We work hard to keep Llenguapp available and running well, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may need to perform maintenance, and there may be occasional downtime. As an evolving product, Llenguapp may change over time, and we may add, modify, or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces the core service you pay for, we will try to give you reasonable notice.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

Llenguapp is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we do not make warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or fit for a particular purpose, and we do not warrant that the AI-generated content is accurate or complete. Nothing in these Terms removes any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law, which continue to apply.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Llenguapp and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunities, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for Llenguapp in the twelve months before the event that gave rise to the claim.

We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

13. Indemnity

If your misuse of Llenguapp, or your breach of these Terms, causes a third-party claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages we incur as a result, to the extent the claim is caused by your actions. This does not apply to the extent the claim is our fault.

14. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Llenguapp at any time, and you can delete your account by contacting us at [email protected]. We may suspend or terminate your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably need to protect the service or other users. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will give you notice first. If you have paid for a period that has not yet finished when we terminate your account for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused part.

15. Changes to these Terms

As Llenguapp grows, we may update these Terms. When we make a meaningful change, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using Llenguapp after a change takes effect, that means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection rights you have in your country of residence. If a dispute arises, please contact us first. We genuinely prefer to resolve things directly and fairly. If we cannot, the dispute may be brought before the competent courts, and if you are a consumer you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence where the law allows.

If you are a consumer, you can also raise a dispute through an alternative dispute resolution or consumer body in your country. In Spain, you can contact the local consumer authorities or the relevant consumer arbitration board.

17. General

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stay in force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and Llenguapp about the service. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our consent, and we may transfer ours to a successor if our business is reorganised or acquired, without reducing your rights. If we do not enforce a part of these Terms straight away, that is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
